Christmas is such a natural time of year to gather together. Families plan their get-togethers, offices enjoy a party, somewhere in our neighbourhoods there is an open house. It seems easier to engage with strangers as we wait in shopping lines, at stoplight crossings, on the subway. There is joy, excitement, a buzz in the air.
The doors are wide open in our hearts, our homes, and our churches. Community Church is no exception. Our doors are open, the lights are on, the coffee is ready. Stay to hear about Hospitality, our Advent series topic this year. Together we will learn how a baby in a manger opened the doors to our hearts and taught us to open the doors to others.
In keeping with our hospitality theme Community Church would like to SERVE YOU your first …or maybe second…cup of coffee each Sunday morning during the Advent season. Starting Sunday November 29, let us pour you a cup of coffee, hot chocolate,(complete with whipping cream), special tea or juice and a fresh baked cookie. The coffee will be on at 9:30 a.m. in our new Cafe, to allow time to chat, introduce ourselves to a new face or share how God has moved in our lives this past week. There will be no coffee after church to give us all extra time to invite someone home for more fellowship after the service.
Come, let’s open the doors of our hearts and homes and share the good news of the One who came!
