  • Nahum

Feb. 28 - We look at Nahum who was one of the most obscure prophets. Nahum foretold the ruin of the mighty Assyrian empire, which had hauled Judah into slavery and exile. His words were a warning that no city or nation was so powerful as to be beyond the reach of God’s judgment.

  • Micah

Feb. 21 - Israel and Judah turned away from God and did not repent. Micah reminds his audience that what God desired was not religion, but faithful living.

  • Jonah

Feb. 14 - We look at Jonah who was swallowed by a great fish while attempting to flee God’s call. Jonah’s message is directed not at Israel, but at the sin-choked foreign city of Nineveh – a reminder that God’s love and forgiveness was not limited to one nation or ethnic group.

We are presently in the season of Lent – the weeks leading up to Good Friday and Easter.  We will continue our walk through the minor prophets.  As we continue our journey, listen carefully for the promise of the Messiah and the reminder that in Christ’s death and resurrection, we powerfully see God’s love and forgiveness.

Life in the Minor Key

We continue our walk through the lives of the Old Testament Minor prophets, their calling, their message and its connection to how we understand the New Testament and our understanding of God’s redemptive plan. Listen closely and you’ll find the challenges we receive will be life changing as we allow God to shape us into fully devoted followers of Jesus.

You are encouraged to bring your Bibles to church with you so you can make notes and follow along.
